About Jonathan Veira

Jonathan Veira

Jonathan Veira celebrated 25 years on the operatic stage in 2010 with his anniversary seeing him on the Glyndebourne stage as the wicked stepfather 'Don Magnifico' in Rossini's La Cenerentola.

Jonathan began his now global career, which has included varied roles including those of Mozart and John Adams, by studying at London University where he got his Bachelors and as a post graduate at the Trinity College of Music and then the National Opera Studio.

His comic and vocal telents have led Jonathan to play some of the lead comic baritone roles which have received universal critical acclaim.

Aside from his operatic roles, Jonathan regularly broadcasts on radio and TV. He has also recorded a number of CDs and TV shows including BBC Songs of Praise.

It's Jonathan's Christian faith has been an essential part of his life and work and this has been reflected in much of his recorded albums. The albums are varied in style from traditional hymns and carols to blues, gospel and some well known inspirational secular songs - something to suit all musical tastes.
